Believe it or not, even the simplest fiber, burlap, the insole of espadrilles and so many other uses, also contains Glyphosate.

John is the author of four books on hemp and composting, with combined sales of more than one million copies. It helped fuel the modern home composting movement in the early 1990s. He has written more than 10 articles in the last 4 years on healthy soils, oceans and climate change. Here I bring you translated the interview that Sustainable Pulse * conducted a few days ago.
He founded the organic superfood brand NUTIVA in 1999 with 500 hemp bars and Inc. Magazine selected NUTIVA as one of the fastest growing companies in the United States for 7 consecutive years. John stepped down as CEO in 2017. In 2018, he founded RE Botanicals ™, The Pure Organic Hemp Apothecary ™.
What made you decide to focus your energy on setting up RE Botanicals after your successful career as CEO of Nutiva?
I was seeing how the fast-growing CBD hemp market was dominated by those skilled in the art with the knowledge that the issues of soil health, organic farming, non-GMO processing, and botanical integrity were sadly missing. being approached by existing actors. I am excited to be moving the industry to a better place where we can all regenerate with hemp!
What is so important about "purity" in Hemp CBD and in all Hemp products in general? What exactly does 'purity' mean?
Hemp is a bioaccumulator, which means that it absorbs everything around it. This is why making and purchasing USDA certified organic hemp is so important. Most non-organic hemp farmers grow other glyphosate-sprayed crops that pollute the soil and can be found in hemp flowers. Glyphosate is a cancer causing herbicide that should be avoided and it is certainly not something you want to have in any product that you place under your tongue like a concentrated extract. Our health is our greatest asset.
Where is the boom in Hemp CBD in the US and globally in the right direction from an agricultural and product point of view?
Sadly, most of the CBD hemp acres are grown with synthetic fertilizers on soil sprayed with pesticides. The good news is that more farmers and brands are moving towards more organic and regenerative farming practices.
Why did RE Botanicals decide to certify their products as 'Free of Glyphosate Residues' since you are already USDA Organic certified?
We want to demonstrate to our customers and to the market our focus on purity and organic for the health of people and the planet.
Why is regenerative agriculture so important to you and RE Botanicals?
Agriculture is one of the main causes of the climate crisis, but it can be part of the solution. It is time to change agriculture not only to build healthy soils, but also to sequester carbon through the use of regenerative agriculture, which has the potential to reverse climate change. Hemp couldn't be a more perfect crop to lead the way in this regenerative movement! Let's regenerate with hemp! .-
