A 1966 volkswagen van powered by solar energy

Reports say it produces enough electricity that the van never needs to connect to an electric car charging station.

It would be great to see Volkswagen release a version of this hippie van as an electric vehicle powered only by solar energy, right? Well, its manufacture ceased in 2003, but the brand is thinking of starting to produce the van again but with an electric motor. Although we already have vehicles on the market with solar panels on their roof, haven't you seen any? Well, this Ford C-MAX hybrid has them built into the factory.

Daniel's van can be seen on the streets of Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he is testing.

The company has shown multiple designs, and a member of the board of directors, Heinz-Jakob Neusser, said earlier this year that engineers were working on an all-electric successor to the Volkswagen Westfalia Camper.
