Did you know that the coldest place on earth is not at the North Pole?

At the North Pole, the mercury usually reaches -31ºC to 0ºC in winter, but there are colder places in Siberia.

It is Verkhoyansk, with a population of 1500 inhabitants, where the temperature has dropped to -69.8ºC. And of Oymyakon, which has approximately 800 inhabitants, where the lowest temperature recorded to date has been below -70ºC.

At those temperatures even fuels like diesel freeze.
