An industrial plant capable of capturing carbon dioxide directly from the air

It is not the only company that has this objective, some other American and Swedish companies also try to achieve the same. These companies envision a future in which captured CO2 is turned into low-carbon fuel that is consumed locally. The companies have attracted financial support from the rich and powerful, although they are still in the early stages of R&D.

Commercialization of this technology can save lives but is currently proving difficult. So far, no one has paid companies to get carbon dioxide out of the air. Although the carbon dioxide could be sold to soft drink companies or greenhouses for plant growth, the production and distribution of synthetic fuels remains the main objective.

In the end, carbon removal technology can be financed, simply because world civilization has run out of other options. "Scientists are increasingly convinced that we are going to need large-scale disposal systems to fight climate change."
