San Luis inaugurates its first photovoltaic solar park

The Minister of the Environment, Daiana Hissa, anticipated that local and national officials will attend the launch of the park, as well as ambassadors from countries that invest in clean energy, representatives of the United Nations (UN), senators and deputies.

The work required an investment of more than $ 30 million by the provincial government and is the second of these characteristics to be put into operation in the country, with an installed power of 1 MW, but the first to be carried out with entirely provincial funds. It is located on almost 4 hectares of the Terrazas del Portezuelo Native Park, on the same property as the Ecological Government House.

The Photovoltaic Solar Park is part of the chain of actions that earned the House of Government of San Luis the certification of the Climate Change Foundation, directed by Al Gore. “The Terrazas del Portezuelo Administrative Decentralization building was inaugurated on July 9, 2010 and, in October 2011, the Climate Change Foundation, chaired by Al Gore, awarded the Government of the Province the certification as the first public ecological building in the country ”, Explained the Minister of the Environment, Daiana Hissa.

This certification came due to the commitment that, with this work, the Government of the Province assumed with the care of the environment. Immediately after its inauguration, work began to mitigate the CO2 emissions that occurred during the construction of the building, as well as those related to its operation. Added to the installation of smart lighting, hermetic double glazing, and efficient cooling and heating systems; the operation of its own water treatment plant, waste recycling, afforestation with native species, paperlessness of files and two ecological transport systems: one internal, electric, and a line of hybrid urban buses that arrive from different points of the city. city to property, Transpuntano line “P”, units acquired by the provincial government and transferred to the municipality for use.

The last step necessary to achieve the self-sustainability of this unique building in the country was to produce energy. On October 21, that step will have been taken with the production, for the first time in the province, of clean energy on a large scale, which will be injected into the electricity grid to power Terrazas del Portezuelo.

Outstanding personalities from the local, regional, national and international levels will attend this historic day for the future of the province: national environmental officials, ambassadors from countries that invest in clean energy, UN representatives, governors, senators, deputies, ministers, mayors , students and hundreds of puntanos.

The Photovoltaic Solar Park is also part of two strong policies carried out by the Government of the Province: the Environmental Master Plan, Peace Treaty between Progress and the Environment, Strategy 2010 - 2020 and the Strategic Energy Plan 2012 - 2025.
