5 ways to prepare rosemary

Rosemary is an aromatic herb that normally lives in coastal areas and is capable of reaching two meters in height, remaining green almost all year round.

It has a multitude of stimulating properties for your body. Among these, it should be noted that it helps fight rheumatism, anemia (since it contains a lot of iron), overweight, inflammation, high blood pressure or even hair loss, among others.

However, avoid using an excessive amount of this plant since it could cause adverse reactions. It is also not recommended for use during pregnancy, if you have an irritable bowel or if you suffer from insomnia.

This plant has different modes of preparation for use:

In infusion

To prepare an infusion you have to let a small spoon of leaves rest in a cup of boiling water for ten minutes. Once rested, filter the infusion and it will be ready to drink.

Tincture

Place 200 grams of rosemary in a liter of 70% alcohol. Leave the mixture in a covered container for 10 days, shaking the container once a day. Once the ten days have passed, filter the result and store it in a jar protected from light.

Ointment

Heat 1 liter of the tincture in a water bath until its volume is reduced 5 times. Melt 1 kg of white Vaseline and mix it together with 100ml of the reduced tincture.

Lotion

Place 200 grams of rosemary in a liter of 96% alcohol for 10 days. Shake the mixture once a day. After the ten days have passed, filter the liquid and store it in a jar protected from light. You have to take into account that this mixture stains clothes.

Inhaled

Boil a small amount of the leaves in water and cover your head with a towel, inhaling the resulting vapors.
