F-84 Photos by Al Cocks from the collection of Jim Cocks
Used by permission
Photos taken at Eglin AFB, Florida, about 1953 by Al Cocks. These photos are of an "air power demonstration" held by the Air Force to demsonstrate their current airborne weapons systems for a select group of government officials. As Al Cocks was the representative to government agencies for Republic, he was invited to attend and took these photos, along with photos of other contemporary aircraft that are not reproduced here, as I have posted only those photos that are relevant to the F-84 (okay, so I included the photo of the B-47s because I found it to be so interesting). It is well to remember that, being the early 1950s, the Kodachrome film these photos were taken with was 25 ASA at best, and most likely, he used a rangefinder camera with 50 or 55 mm lens. And, despite their age, these photos show no signs of color fade.
