Oat milk helps reduce bad cholesterol, it is an excellent source of essential nutrients such as omega 3 fats (walnuts or almonds), proteins of high biological value, it is an excellent substitute for cow's milk which avoids food joys and Lactose intolerant people can take it and it is the ideal liquid base to prepare smoothies, smoothies and accompany cereals during breakfast, and last but not least it is very economical to make it at home.
- 1 cup raw oats (not instant)
- 3 - 4 cups of water, depending on the consistency you want the milk to have
- 12 almonds (or pecan type nuts)
- Ground cinnamon to taste
- Vanilla essence to taste
- Honey or stevia to taste
- Makes 3 or 4 cups
Let the oats and almonds soak separately in plenty of filtered water overnight.
The next morning, drain the excess water and put both ingredients in the blender.
Add the desired amount of water depending on the consistency
Add the cinnamon, vanilla and the sweetener to your liking.
Grind at full speed until all the ingredients are perfectly incorporated.
Strain the mixture through a very fine strainer and store your oat milk in the refrigerator in glass jars for up to 2 days.
Do not throw away the excess, it will help you make some oatmeal cookies.
