Model backdated to a D as FS-428-A 49th FBW, Taegu, Korea, 1951. Fuselage and cockpit shortened 10", and canopy shortened 8". RTV silicon mold made from shortened canopy and acrylic cast canopy made. Several fuselage panel lines deleted, auxiliary intakes filled, panels from nose cone to wing leading edge rescribed, removed the air refueling doors, rescribed wing panel lines, replaced the Swiss-cheese speed brake with the slotted speed brake from the Battle-Axe kit, moved pitot tube to center of intake splitter. Ejection seat is early style from Collect-Aire kit. Auxiliary tanks modified to remove the tank to wing joint fairing. Decals made on ATP Clear Decal AD6000 sheets using PageMaker 6.0 on PC output to an ALPS MD-2010 CYMK printer. Canopy bracing is individually cut white decals. Paint is four shades of Testors Buffing Metalizer, and Testors or AeroMaster enamels for other colors. Gear and speed brake wells were done in yellow zinc chromate.
